---------------------------------------------------------------------------
HARDWARE REQUIRED TO RUN
--------------------------
This animation will run on any amiga equipped with 3meg of ram.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
------------------
The animation is set in the future where two giant soft drink companies
(KOKA KOLA AND PEP-C) rule the universe!
The star of the animation is a technician who works for KOKA
KOLA.In the anim he decides to skive off from work in search of a
`REAL DRINK` that supposedly tastes like the `REAL THING`.A nearby
starbase would be an ideal place to start looking ...
I would have put the above in the anim but another still would have
bumped up the anim another 100k.Why THE AD ?The ending reveals all!
ANIM FACTS AND FIGURES
-------------------
1 6 weeks in the making!Mainly building the objects and the video wall ads.
In comparison SPEEDLIMIT took me two weeks and DOLPHIN DREAMS 3 days!
2 Consists of 1400 frames.
3 Approximate running time 1 minute 26 seconds.
4 FEATURES:TEXTURE MAPPING,BRUSH MAPPING,ANIMATED BRUSH MAPS,EASEIN/OUT
PATHS,MOTION BLUR,KEYFRAME ANIMATION,DIGITISED ANIMATION,COLOURED
LIGHTING(DIMINISHED),3D CHARACTER ANIMATION,CAMERA PANNING,TRACKING,
ROTATION AND ZOOMS.
5 The model of the man was quite huge so the animation was rendered not
raytraced.Still there`s no call for shadows in space!
6 ADverts on the videowalls of the tankers also feature past anims and
even a japanese manga video!(Anyone got Legend Of The Overfiend?!)
CRITIC CORNER
---------------
Many thanks to 17bit for getting my work in the magazines! Thanks also
to the reviewers for their kind words.
Incidentally,a small criticism i got from a magazine was the
`vague` storyline of SPEEDLIMIT.Well, did Tobias Richter have ANY story
to his animations?
ANYBODY can stick an object and the camera on a path and make
them zip about.Ive attempted something more `original` and believe me
making a `humanlike` character move convincingly in 3D is very
hard! If it was easy it would be as common as,well,a fly-by Richter
animation!
As to the lack of sound i have found no player that can play
an anim(quickly) and play sound without itself taking up a big chunk
of memory. This is why i dropped DELUXE VIDEO after my APC ANIM.It looked
great in 32 colours.Something like a Psygnosis Intro Player would be
ideal.Anybody out there got something similar?
THE END
---------
I thought i would take advantage of this text file to make a request.
I would like to swap IMAGINE objects and textures with other users.
They must be of a reasonable size, detailed and well constructed. No
chequered vases please!!The phone number is at the beginning.
thanks for reading this,
Craig Collins
